However, a pitch clock or telling the batter he cannot leave the batter’s box takes away from the gamesmanship of baseball. The little pauses a hitter takes can throw a pitcher’s rhythm. Shaking off a catcher’s sign or taking an extra second on the mound can get into a hitter’s head. It is a chess game and although it can be a bit much at times it is part of the game and should remain so. I vote to keep the game the way it is and change the way you watch it.
